Is it really just a matter of perspective? Can our lives go in a completely different direction just by changing our perspective? I do know for a fact that changing the way I look at things did change my life. I won’t go into too much detail here, so if you want to read more about my story, you can go to my website at Justbreathedeeply.com to do so. That would actually mean a lot to me. When you are there take some time to look around. ๐
I will, although fill you in on a little bit of my past. I was a very shy girl with very low self-esteem. I struggled with anxiety and depression. As I got older it got worse until one day while sitting alone in my car in a very empty parking lot, I decided to do something about it. This meant I really needed to change the way I looked at things. I needed to change my perspective on life and how I looked at myself. So how do I do that?
We have a choice
Because I am an empath. I generally thought that if someone didn’t come to me and ask me if I was alright when I wasn’t feeling alright. I thought that nobody cared enough to ask. The more that happened as life went on, the more I was convinced I wasn’t worth anyone caring about. I didn’t know at the time that not everyone can see when someone is hurting or feel when someone is hurting like I could. Like Empath’s can.
I did feel like the victim a lot growing up and into adulthood. I honestly hated that feeling but didn’t realize at the time that I was choosing to believe the lies I was hearing. I didn’t know I had a choice in what I held onto and what I let go of. And we do, you know. We have a choice. Thoughts will always get in, but we can choose what stays and what we believe. This doesn’t happen overnight, but with practice you will get used to this new “normal”. “The Battlefield of the Mind” is wonderful book that I recommend very strongly about this subject.
Two other very good book’s that I recommend are “The Empath’s Survival guide”. And “Thriving as an Empath”. A one year devotional. Click on the titles to find great deals on your copy’s!
changing the way i look at things
So, I thought to myself. Do you want to stay the victim and never live life to its fullest? Do you want to just survive and think this is all there is? Do you want to believe that you are just going to live a miserable life until you die (Today, someone I know and love thinks this is their truth) ๐ (It’s NOT) Or do you want to live the life you are supposed live by changing the way you look at things? By changing the thoughts you hold onto? By changing your perspective? I did change those things, and you can too.
you have a gift
This takes practice and the realization that you are here for a reason, that you are here to make an impact somehow. That you have a gift that is created just for you. That your life is supposed to have meaning and help others somehow. Yes YOUR life! And these things will never happen as long as you are fighting it. As long as you are refusing to see the good in yourself, and choosing to listen to the lies and not the truths. So if you are struggling with these things. Try to do what I did by changing the way I look at things. Try seeing the good qualities in yourself, because they are there!! And when you can do this, and with practice and the right perspective, you will feel so free!
And if you need some encouragement along the way or need someone to talk to. Please contact me.
I am here for you! And just a reminder. by you reaching out to me for anything, actually helps me too. So don’t ever think you will be bothering me or like you are a burden, because those are lies. We help each other!!
light therapy
Also, because of the gloomy weather, depression is more prevalent. When we are lacking Vitamin D, we are at a higher risk of developing depression. I do recommend a Light Therapy Lamp. The Miroco Lamp is on my desk and turned on most days. I do like this one a lot, because it is small and you can adjust the brightness and set a timer. (So I don’t have to remember to turn it off) These lights are UV-Free, they emulate a bright sunny day and help you feel energized. They also help greatly with mood and focus.
